➤ When do 2027 Medicare Advantage plans come out?
Plan details went live on Medicare Plan Finder on October 1, 2026, after CMS released the national landscape on September 28, 2026. You can review and compare 2027 plans now, but you cannot enroll until Annual Enrollment opens on October 15, 2026.
➤ When can I enroll in a 2027 Medicare Advantage plan?
Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7, 2026, with coverage starting January 1, 2027. If you are already in Medicare Advantage, you can also make one change from January 1 to March 31, 2027. People newly eligible for Medicare or with a Special Enrollment Period may be able to enroll at other times.
➤ Why do Medicare Advantage plans change every year?
Insurers design new plans each year based on Medicare payment rates and their own costs, and submit bids each June. Benefits, premiums, copays, drug lists and networks can all change, so read your Annual Notice of Change each fall and compare your plan against other 2027 options.
➤ When do insurers decide to leave a county?
Those decisions are built into the bids insurers submit in June, and members are notified in the fall. If your plan is ending, you will get a non-renewal notice, your coverage continues through December 31, 2026, and you can pick a new plan during Annual Enrollment or a Special Enrollment Period.
➤ When are 2027 star ratings released?
CMS publishes Medicare Advantage and Part D star ratings in October, ahead of Annual Enrollment. Ratings use a 1-to-5 scale and appear alongside each plan in Medicare Plan Finder, so you can factor quality into your comparison along with premiums, costs, networks and drug coverage.
➤ What if I miss December 7?
Your current plan generally renews for 2027 if it is still offered. If you are in Medicare Advantage, you can make one change from January 1 to March 31, 2027. Outside those windows, you can usually switch only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
